— Our Engagements
Three Engagements,
Each With a Specific Purpose
We do not offer a general consulting retainer. Each engagement is scoped to a distinct operating challenge and produces a distinct written output at its conclusion.
Back to HomeOur Approach
Every engagement at Anvil Bureau starts from the same point: we look at the actual work before we form any view about what should change. This is not a posture — it is how the work gets done. The diagnostic starts with observation, the coaching cycle starts with listening, and the lift sprint starts with watching the routine run.
We scope each engagement in writing at the outset. That scope document is the reference for both parties. If something falls outside it, we stop and discuss — we do not widen the mandate quietly and invoice for the additional time at the end.
Initial Conversation
Short call to understand the operating challenge and decide which engagement, if any, is the right fit.
Scope Agreement
Written scope document agreed before work begins. Fixed fee confirmed at this stage.
Engagement
On-site observation, structured interviews, or coaching sessions — depending on the engagement type.
Written Deliverable
Report, coaching summary, or lift sprint record — delivered at the close of the engagement.
Engagement 01
Operating Friction Diagnostic
A short engagement that surveys an operation across an agreed scope and produces a written diagnostic of the points where day-to-day work encounters avoidable friction. The team observes selected workflows, conducts structured interviews with operators and supervisors, and produces a written report with a prioritised list of small operating changes. The deliverable includes a one-page summary suitable for the management team and a working document for internal use.
- Live observation of selected workflows within agreed scope
- Structured interviews with operators and supervisors
- Prioritised friction report with specific small-change recommendations
- One-page management summary included
- Working document for internal use at operational level
Engagement 02
Function Lead Coaching Cycle
A six-session coaching cycle for a function lead working through a specific operating challenge, such as taking on a wider remit or rebuilding the operating rhythm of a team. The sessions are structured working conversations grounded in operating practice, not personal development. The cycle includes a short written framing note at the start and a closing summary that records the working agreements reached and the threads to revisit.
- Six structured working conversations over agreed timeframe
- Short written framing note at the start of the cycle
- Operating practice focus — not personal development methodology
- Closing summary of working agreements reached
- Threads to revisit documented for independent follow-through
Engagement 03
Operating Lift Sprint
A multi-week engagement that works alongside the operating team to lift the performance of an agreed operating routine, such as a recurring sales cycle, a monthly close, or a service ticket flow. The team observes the routine in operation, makes small adjustments in collaboration with the operators, and produces a written report on the lift achieved and the operating changes that were retained.
- Present during the routine as it runs — not a remote review
- Small adjustments made in collaboration with the operators
- Changes observed, tested, and documented in real time
- Written report on lift achieved and changes retained
- Suitable for recurring cycles: sales, close, ticket flow, and similar
